UMass Lowell senior distance runner Robert Allen (Cranston, R.I.) won the DI Pre-Nationals Cross Country 8K "Black" race, this morning, at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky in a time of 23-minutes, 59.9-seconds. Allen finished seven seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Sophomore Paul Hogan (Burlington, Mass.) grabbed seventh place. River Hawk men finished sixth in a field of 31 teams. Because of the number of schools sending teams the event was divided into two races, "Red" and "Black."
